Why do we do it?

Everyone loves to have a holiday and we all have our favorite spots. The problem is when you want to go somewhere different and do something different?

If you’ve been using the web for a while you know there are loads of websites dedicated to travel and holidays. The problem is most of them are websites that simply promote their own businesses - like airlines - hotels - and places of interest.

You know how it goes -

  1. You visit their site, read their spin, look at their photos (usually not many) and you make a booking.
  2. You pack your bags and set off, full of excitement and wonder.
  3. You arrive at your holiday destination only to find it is nothing like you imaged and in some cases so disappointing you find somewhere else.
We would love to see a website that has independent ratings and reviews, with real photos of what you need to see - rooms, bathrooms, pools, restaurants, food, buffet breakfasts - in other words- details, so you know what to expect. This would avoid disappointments so you can get on with the real business of enjoying a break from your normal routine.
We would also like to see a site that tells us about special offers, discounts and clever ways to save on holiday expenses. Sure, there are a lot of sites offering that type of info, but most of them are trying to sell you something so they can get their cut and hence are not truly independent.
