Spent one week at Novatel, Nusa Dua in Bali two weeks ago and had a fantastic time there. Service was excellent and the friendliness of the staff was almost overwhelming. Only grudge was that they only offered 25% discount on food when we were expecting 50%. Apart from that everything was superb.

We have been members for a couple of years and I must say I won't be rejoining this year. We also stayed at Darling Harbour and really enjoyed it, but it wasn't any cheaper in reality.

Advantage Plus has been severely hobbled by an awful "Global" website that makes bookings nearly impossible. Their local site was once supberb offering a "wotif" like listing of days and prices for stays. Now you can only find a price for one night at one hotel. Comparison for many hotels and different nights needs pen and paper to record and many web page changes. The club newsletter offers "Red Hot" room prices but there is no way of finding which dates they apply to from the club web page. It's usefulness as a membership for an occasional traveller is close to zero.

I joined Accor Advantage a year ago. It seems okay value. The reason we joined is because we live 2 minutes away from a participating hotel and thought we could take advantage of the meal discounts. Unfortunately the quantity and quality of the meals has seriously diminished and we will not be renewing our membership.

Dude the discount comes off the lowest available public rate or hotel advertised special, that means that it's cheaper than the online discount bookings you refer to. Also advantage plus has their own last minute website for members that smash every other price you'd find anywhere. stayed at the novotel darling harbour last year for $63 for a standard room, that's cheaper than a formule 1

Advantage plus value is diminishing with the ready availability of online discount bookings. Typically the Novotel rates are pretty simple room only with extra for parking etc so not so competitive. Also gift cards for novotels are not able to be redeemed for Advantage plus room rates so even if a member when using a gift card you may as well not be. Strange given that a gift card is cash that has alreday been handed over...........
Seems that Accor may need to rethink some of their conditions.
